Clivia robusta looks like a giant form of Clivia gardenii. It has extended stems which can reach a height of 1.5 metres.

Characteristically it grows in swampy conditions in semi-shade and also in shallow river-beds.

The flower-heads are tall and large, and bear pendant flowers from yellow to red in colour. It is possibble to grow this plant in a garden pond. It would be best to submerge the container in shallow water.
